“Still, I can’t imagine the Grimm would be terribly impressed by this move.”

“Well that’s one way to distract an opponent I suppose,” mused Qrow aloud. She tried wiggling around to free herself but only managed to face-plant on the grass gracelessly. Or at least that was the plan because instead of scoring a hit, the whip curved around and ended up coiling around poor Ruby. The little girl adopted what she thought was a fearsome pose and lashed out at her uncle! On the other side of the field, Ozpin and Taiyang were investigating the latter’s daughter’s newfound abilities. The former bandit was training Ruby in the use of her whip in the courtyard. “Sorry!” Chirped the girl, rubbing the back of her head sheepishly. The latter had taken everything in good humor, but the former had to be restrained from strangling Ruby with her bare hands. As it was, she’d spent the rest of the night in her room after she’d been made to apologize to the nurse for wrecking her infirmary and to the Headmaster for having to pay for new beds. The Lightning Incident would have marked her harshest punishment ever had Ruby not needed to regularly use her power.
